Key Features

  • MPT X Spiral Barbed Adapter: transitions from PVC pipe to swing pipe when installing an underground sprinkler system
  • Spiral Barbed Coupling: connects two sections of swing pipe together
  • MPT X Spiral Barbed Elbow transitions from swing pipe to sprinkler head and adds a 90° bend when connecting swing pipe to a sprinkler head

Applications

  • Transition from PVC to swing pipe with the MPT X adapter; join two sections of swing pipe with the coupling; connect swing pipe to sprinkler head with the MPT X elbow
  • Use for subsurface installation; works in a variety of areas, from small to large, flat or sloped
  • As part of a complete underground sprinkler system, swing pipe fittings are used to transition from pipe to swing pipe, connect two sections of swing pipe, or connect swing pipe to sprinkler head

Installation & Maintenance

  • Thread MPT to FPT on one end, twist barbed ends onto swing pipe
  • Periodically check for leaks or damage and repair as needed; recommended operating pressure for most fittings is up to 50 PSI

Materials & Sustainability

  • Fitting is made of polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal, a type of plastic, treated with UV inhibitors to prevent cracking
  • Drip irrigation can reduce water usage by up to 70% compared to conventional sprinkler irrigation when used properly; for most drip irrigation products, water is applied precisely and at the rate the soil can accept it to prevent runoff and erosion
