Convey street sewer waste one way through basements or low areas using the PVC 4 in. Backwater Valve with Adapter. The backwater valve is lightweight and easy to install. The quick action flapper allows unrestricted uni-directional flow. Elastomeric gasket in the flapper ensures a watertight seal. Flapper can be easily removed and replaced if required. Access cap neoprene gasket provides a positive seal. Valve hub outlets fit 4 in. DWV pipe and may be adapted to 4 in. sewer and drain pipe with included NDS DWV to Sewer & Drain Adapter. Horizontal installation required, with arrows on top of the valve hub pointing in the direction of the flow of water. This backwater valve is a chemically resistant alternative to cast iron valves. Durable backwater valve and adapter are made of PVC plastic.
Applications:
- Directs flow one-way through pipe when flapper opens, allowing water through and preventing backflow of waste from street sewers
- Use for low basement areas and sewage system installations; works with most DWV and sewer and drain pipe to transport waste and prevent backflow in pressurized systems
- As part of a complete flow management system, the Backwater Valve adapter connects DWV pipe to 4 in. sewer and drain pipe and other system components to allow water to flow through
