This document is the case study for Kangasala Finland Sports Park Case Study. Over 170 MC-3500 StormTech chambers were used to provide clean water.

Over 170 MC-3500 StormTech chambers were specified to be installed for the Lamminrahka sports park. StormTech was specified at the beginning of the project because of cost effectiveness and quick installation. Other options could have been considered since it was a public project, but the contractor chose to use StormTech.

The stormwater infiltrates into the ground and some of the water is released into a ditch. The entire StormTech system, which holds 850 cubic meters (1111 cubic yards), is lined with ADS Plus woven geotextile to help clean the water’s outflow prior to reaching the drainage ditch.

The contractor was pleased with StormTech’s installation process. The initial thought was it would be a long installation process, but the crew installed the system by the end of the work day.

The installation was done in April 2020 using 170 MC-3500 StormTech Chambers and 20 MC-3500 StormTech End Caps.
