Celebrating the People Who Keep Projects Moving: National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

Every delivery tells a story. Behind each stick of pipe, each basin and every on-time drop is a professional driver who plans the route, checks the load and gets it there safely. During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we recognize the men and women who represent Advanced Drainage Systems on the road and at our customers’ sites every day.

Our drivers are often the last people a customer sees. They solve problems at the curb. They navigate jobsite constraints. They protect products and property. That work takes skill, judgment and pride. It also forms a partnership with the teams that load, dispatch, schedule and support them across our network.

“Our drivers are the face of ADS to our customers,” said Melissa Hempel, Vice President of Logistics. “They deliver more than product. They deliver reliability. They deliver confidence that the job will stay on track. I am proud of their professionalism and the way they represent our company and our values.”

This week, leaders from our corporate team are visiting plants across the United States and Canada. The goal is simple. Say thank you in person. Listen to what is working. Identify where we can make the workday safer and smarter. From better yard flow to clearer load paperwork to coordinated gate times, small improvements compound when multiplied across routes and regions.

Safety sits at the center of every decision. Pre-trip inspections. Proper securing. Careful site access. Clear communication with customers. These habits protect people, equipment, and communities. They also build trust. Trust that the delivery will arrive ready to install. Trust that if conditions change, the driver will adapt and communicate clearly.

“Our transportation team succeeds because drivers, dispatch and plant operations pull in the same direction,” said Nicholas Dalesandro, Director of Transportation. “When a driver rolls through the gate with a clean, secure load and accurate paperwork, everyone wins. That level of execution is what our customers remember long after the truck leaves the site.”

Appreciation is more than a week on the calendar. It is daily respect for the craft. It is investing in training, equipment and support. It is designing routes and loads that balance service with safety. It is recognizing great performance and sharing the practices behind it so others can benefit.

To every ADS driver on the road today, thank you. Your professionalism keeps projects moving and communities building. Your work connects our plants to our partners and turns plans into progress. If you would like to share a message of thanks or highlight a driver who went the extra mile, please contact your local ADS representative.
