The Duraslot detail shows the 1/4” - 1/8” recess into finished pavement, expansion joint, aluminum slot riser with 5 inch wide grate, compressive strength concrete, ADS N-12 HDPE, asphalt or concrete pavement, base material as appropriate and stable, undisturbed earth or compacted fill.

A table shows the nominal diameter ID, in. (mm) for 6 thru 36 and depth of invert height in minimum and maximum inches.

Notes state that backfill design may be used for light to moderate traffic loads. Concrete backfill should extend downward to at least the spring line of the pipe. The soil below the pipe and concrete shall be a lean clay or similar at 95% compaction. The engineer provides site specific details such as concrete strength. Coupler bands are soil-tight. For a tighter seal, a full concrete installation, neoprene sheet or mastic filler may be used.
