This document is the 604A HP Storm to RCP Connection (MarMac) Detail. Section A-A detail with cross views and descriptions are shown.

The side view detail shows the HP pipe to be connected, the RCP pipe, removal of the IB Bell or spigot and to excavate existing grade to avoid soil intrusion and create a safe work area.

A second view shows the finish grade, dissimilar marmac coupler to be wrapped around connection using a marmac that is one size larger in diameter to provide overlap, RCP pipe, variable depth and Class I bedding to support connection.

Section “A-A” shows dissimilar marmac coupler to be wrapped around connection.

Notes state that the connection and pipe to be backfilled per ASTM D2321. An internal cylinder may be welded to the pipe to be inserted into the ID of the existing pipe and minimize joint movement. Internal cylinders not recommended for downstream connections.
